PHP is a Server side scripting language designed specially for web developers, the code of PHP is interpreted by a web server with PHP processor Module which generates the web page.Some other Popular technologies like Java and Asp.net are used for Web Development, and they required high skills to develop a website, I am showing some Aspects by which I can say PHP is better Than Asp.net, there can be lots of other reasons also.
Cheap Hosting Cost
PHP hosting is cheaper than ASP.NET hosting because everything is free in PHP like you can use Linux to host your PHP website which is a Open source in Asp.net you need to purchase Windows OS, and The LAMP platform is much more popular than the Windows platform. Based on Netcraft's July 2010 Web Server Survey of 205,714,253 sites, 112,945,968 (54.90%) are hosted on Apache and 53,217,620 (25.87%) are hosted on Windows the rest are hosted on other platforms.
PHP is Easy to Learn
You can learn PHP with In few days but in Java and .Net you need to attend the full course on these technologies because they have lots of concepts which increase their course length, and if you are already a web Designer you can quickly move to web development after learning PHP.
Lots of Jobs
PHP is most popular for web Development so Getting a job on PHP is quite easy if you compare with .Net and Java, once a .Net fresher can get job easily but but for Java developers getting job is just like getting gold in copper mine, the main reason behind this is a PHP developer’s Salary are much less than .Net developers because lots of small companies use PHP for their development because of its low cost in maintaining servers. But .Net and Java mostly used by large companies where projects are very big.
PHP Developer Can easily Earn Money from Home
A PHP Developer can earn good money from home by freelancing work, all major websites and blogs are running on Wordpress which is developed in PHP and there is huge demand of PHP developers for managing Web Sites and Customization if you Know Wordpress,Joomla Drupal development you can Easily earn from home.
